Who builds Young Projects' designs in the Dominican Republic?

ACCOM. We were the construction company for two Young Projects designs on the Dominican Republic's Atlantic coast: Playa Grande Beach Club, a $32M hospitality build, and Playa Grande II, a 2,500 m² private residence delivered over 36 months. Both were designed by the New York studio of Bryan Young and built by ACCOM - construction and project management, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The collaboration

Two projects on one coastline.

Playa Grande Beach Club anchors the social life of the Playa Grande estate on the Atlantic coast. The brief asked for pavilions that would feel woven into the existing Caribbean landscape rather than placed on top of it - geometry that is simple to draw and demanding to build. Playa Grande II followed: a 2,500 m² private residence that carried the same architectural language into a family home.

A second commission from the same studio is the fact we value most. Repeat work between an architect and a builder means the drawings were respected, the budget held, and the finished buildings matched the intent. That is the working relationship we offer any architect bringing a design to the Dominican Republic.

ACCOM built Playa Grande Beach Club, designed by New York-based Young Projects (Bryan Young). It is a $32M multi-pavilion hospitality project on the Playa Grande estate, on the Dominican Republic's Atlantic coast.

Who built Playa Grande II?

How does ACCOM work with international architects in the Dominican Republic?

ACCOM is the builder of record on architect-led projects: we price the design, resolve it into local engineering and permits, buy through a supply chain built in Punta Cana since 2006, and deliver against a published schedule, with hurricane-rated structure as the baseline. We prefer to join at feasibility, before groundbreaking, and we work comfortably alongside owners' representatives.
